Spring Break: Day #1 (experienced homelessness)

FRIDAY: Woke up around 10:45AM and went to go have sushi/SMI with Janice. I've been craving sushi and my trip to the cheap sushi buffet thursday afternoon with Jevin, Eddie, and Michelle was just not satisfying.. Note to self: Don't trust sushi buffets that are under $10. So after SMI, i headed back to the dorms to meet with Michelle and Jennifer. Blah Blah Blah, later in the afternoon we took Jennifer back to Irvine where she invited us to a bonfire with some of her friends from her work. So we went. Blah blah blah. When the sun started to set she took us to a sushi place in Westminster i think called Haru? IT WAS THE BEST ALL U CAN EAT SUSHI EVER! the presentation was nice, the fish was fresh, and you could order as many plates as you wanted! It was the most satisfying sushi dinner ever. Infact, Jennifer and her friend Tim left for work and Kevin, Michelle, and i stayed till 9:30pm! I think we had enough sushi to last us for awhile -.- We were on the verge of puking by the time we were done... After that, we took kevin back to his car and Michelle and I headed to LA for Gethsemane where we met TRAFFIC ON THE 5 fwy so we didn't get to gethsemane until 11 something. We ended up getting back to the dorms at 2:00AM dead tired from our eventful day ready to pack up to go home for spring break and then die on our beds but then the unthinkable happened... we were locked out of our own dorm room! We totally forgot that they were going to deadbolt our doors for the week since we didn't pay to stay over the spring break. So there we were.. alone and stuck in Los Cerritos with no where to go. The office was obviously closed and would not be opened again till 10AM the next morning so we couldn't even ask anyone to help us open the doors. We even tried to pick our lock with a paperclip and the thought of climbing through our window crossed my mind but she assured me that, that there was no way that would happen.. So we ended up laying next to our door like hobos and falling asleep hoping someone could help us the next morning.. But then around 4:30AM i woke up to the sound of someone walking in the hall. It turned out that our neighbor just got back and was locked out of her room too even though she paid to stay.. After a while of confusion she called the campus police and since they verified that she had paid to stay over break, they were able to send someone over to open her room door! Michelle and i were scared they wouldn't help us open our room cause we didn't pay but LUCKILY they helped us open ours too with no questions asked! When we finally got back into the room. We didn't even know what to do with ourselves.. we just sat there flabbergasted on our beds.. THANK GOD we were able to get our stuff and feed Laser.

Hello Spring Break, i've been waiting for you.

FUH-INALLY! Although i wish our measly one week break was longer i'm still glad its here! After break there will only be 7 more weeks of school (including finals) Yipeee! Over break i plan to..

1. Get a haircut
2. Get new glasses
3. Go to big bear
4. Plan a trip for summer vacation

hmm, i could've sworn there was more stuff to do but oh well.
I really really really want to go out of the states this summer.
The more i think about it, the more i want to go.
I want to go to Japan or Taiwan or BOTH.
I think i would only want to go back to Japan if it's NOT with a large group of people.
I just wanna go explore on my own for once!

Okay I'm getting a little ahead of myself.
first things first..
SURVIVE THE REST OF THE SEMESTER!

Rant

Sundays are church days for me. Usually after church i either hang around Hacienda Heights for dinner or i head back to Long beach to finish an art project. For some reason today, i realized i misplaced my ipod. I checked my car, asked friends to check their cars, and checked my purse but i could not find it anywhere. So after church i decided that i would stop by my house to check my room before i headed back to Long Beach. (afterall, the long drive back would be so torturous without my little musical friend) I ran upstairs hoping to find it laying somewhere on my desk or floor but it was no where to be found! Then i thought maybe i unknowingly stashed it away somewhere in the stuff i packed to bring back to school so i went back to my car to look in my Adidas bag which i already stuffed in my trunk along with my other belongings which is when i realized.. MY TRUNK WOULD NOT OPEN!! My trunk is the type that has to be opened by either a key or by pulling a lever next to the drivers seat. It has no handle on it or anything. I tried turning my key but for some reason it wouldn't let me turn it all the way! It felt like something was stuck so i assumed my laundry basket inside my trunk was in the way of some switch or something. So i drove my car around trying to break as hard as i could to move the basket and i tried opening it again. It still wouldn't open! I even tried the lever in the front but still no luck! But when i called my mom for help, and tried to show her what has happened it SOMEHOW just opened.. -.-! So we closed it and tried to open it again to make sure it would work. AND IT DIDN'T!!! INFACT AS OF RIGHT NOW IT STILL WONT OPEN!! We figured that there was something wrong with the lock. We were going to try to get into the trunk by putting down the back seats but surprisingly the back seats in my car don't go down!! I was freaking out because my LIFE is literally in my trunk. My laptop, my SLR camera, my sketch book, my cellphone charger, my clothes, my makeup, food, ETC. Oh how i regret not taking all my stuff out when i had the chance to D: i was seriously freaking out knowing that there was NO WAY of accessing my stuff. If i had a choice i would seriously break open my trunk just to get my laptop. As i have mentioned in an earlier post, my laptop is seriously my life.. It's extremely sad and dumb but it seriously is. It has my life planned out in calendar form, not to mention irreplaceable information and work!! I definitely need my MacbookPro for school AND mental stability. As i was saying, i was in desperate need to rescue my laptop from this unexpected horrid situation. My mom kept saying "DONT DENT THE CAR!" so you can imagine what i was trying to do to get the darn thing open.. After half an hour of toggling with the lock and beating up my trunk i stood there defeated by a human proof trunk. My mom suggested that i stay in Hacienda tonight so i could go to the Puente Hills Toyota dealership as soon as it opens tomorrow morning (7am GAH!). Luckily my first class tomorrow isn't until 11:00AM. Since i probably looked super unhappy, my mom's boyfriend offered to take my car to his nephew's house to see if he could offer any solutions. I didn't even know what to do with myself while i waited at home. I just wandered around my house wondering what i was going to do at school without my laptop, sketchbook, and cellphone charger.. but THANKFULLY he called back saying that they were able to pry a crack between the trunk and back seats so they had JUST enough space to reach in to get my laptop bag out. So now i have my laptop and my chargers YAY! I am beyond contempt with that. My clothes and make up are inessential as of right now. I just hope i can get back early enough to get my stuff from my dorm room to get to class on time to write an INCLASS ESSAY -.-! and get my drawing board and art bin for art class! I should really get to sleep now since i have to wake up at 6AM tomorrow... wish me luck!

Logo Shift

Lately i've been noticing some changes in the food industry. It's quite interesting actually how they've been slowly redesigning logos, packaging, etc. I first noticed this in the packaging and logos of sodas, then came cereal boxes, then fast food chains! I think the one that shocked me the most was Jack In The Box's new logo. I saw it in one of their new commercials and it just blew my mind! It looks so modernized but sorta retro in a way.. Infact, it seems like everything is being simplified into a more clean design. Especially the pepsi sign, how minimalistic can you get? Cereal box wise, i'm not sure if the changes are permanent or if they're just having a fun, limited time, "blast from the past" kind of thing going on. Who knows.. I'm not exactly sure why i'm so fascinated by this whole design shift but i've been trying to take pictures of everything as if i'm witnessing some revolutionary cultural change haha let me show you what i'm talking about.. I actually have alot of pictures but my arm hurts from photoshopping without a mouse :P so maybe i'll show you guys the rest next time! in the meant time... ENJOY!

FYL

Since when did the phrase "F*** My Life" get so popular..? I remember hearing it from Eddie and Matt last year. Actually Matt just just likes to say "well, F*** Me" lol but i guess that's along the same lines.. Where did it even come from?! Did i miss a revolutionary line in a movie or something? and how the heck did it get so popular?! Can you believe that there is actually a whole WEBSITE dedicated to that now? I'm sure you guys have all been on it at least once, you know, www.fmylife.com Some of them are actually pretty messed up -.-! i wonder if they're even all true. Here are some of my favorites..

"Today I was volunteering at a nursing home and i was calling bingo numbers. One woman stood up and started making weird noises, I assumed she had won so i started clapping. She then fell on the floor and died from a heart attack. I essentially applauded her death. FML"

"Today i was sitting on the bench with this cute guy. Suddenly he says "i know we don't know each other very well but would you like to have dinner with me on saturday?" I turned to him with a goofy smile and exclaimed "ID LOVE TO!" He gives me a weird look, turns his head and points to his bluetooth. FML"

"Today I received my passport in the mail. They got my birthday wrong. Then I picked up the birth certificate that i had sent in with the application. Turns out my parents have been celebrating my birthday wrong for 16 years. FML"

Busy Bee

GAH! somehow this week has been the busiest and most stressful week i had all semester! i knew something bad was coming when i had that perfect week last week.. -.-! at least its over now (i hope)

If it wasn't for Jake and Amir videos, i probably would have rotted away with stress. If you don't already know, Jake and Amir are from the College Humor Show on MTV. and if you don't know what the College Humor Show is.. go look it up @ MTV.COM It's sort of like The Office but with a younger more contemporary work group. As i was saying.. Jake and Amir are two employees/characters from the college humor show and they have their own little videos at JakeandAmir.com and on YouTube of course. They seriously have like a billion videos because i still haven't watched all of them yet. (and trust me.. i've watched alot). GO CHECK IT OUT! but i admit.. unfortunately, laughter is not guaranteed :( i tried sharing this with 3 other people already and they didn't enjoy like i do.. maybe i have a weird sense of humor or something.. who knows. Nevertheless, here's one of my favs :D

strangely happy :)

Despite the fact that i had a huge project due this week, this week actually went by pretty fast! i wonder if it's cause i kept myself busy.. who knows. This week has also been (dare i say) A PRETTY GOOD WEEK!! ....i know right! whaaaaat? I really don't understand it.. but THANK THE LORD! i do feel like there is a catch to my happiness though O.o because honestly this is the FIRST good week that i have had all semester (6 weeks so far). In fact, today i even found the most comfortable pair of moccasins ever! wait there's more.. they were on sale!! i SAVED $32 :D I also found a pretty pair of earrings and nice shorts. Although i went on a mini shopping spree, i still have money!! Which is SUPER RARE for me cause I usually have $10-zero dollars on me by Friday :P I really hope there is no catch to this week of goodness.. Of course there was more to it than shopping today but i don't want to bore you with details. Now that i think about it, it's kind of sad how i am not used to feeling happy anymore -.- shhh dont tell anyone but.. i've been in such a good mood lately that i feel motivated to work on my art homework E A R L Y O.O

time for the rebirth of my blogger

As some of you may already know, i worked on my art project for TEN hours last night (oh my gahhh) i must say, i hate working with glue sticks -. - the glue just dries so fast (it isn't the most reliable adhesive either) OH and i hate how it manages to get all over your finger tips and you start accumulating the paper color and dust on them which makes you leave ugly irreversible stains on your work! -sigh- okay im done with that.
------
I hate how my blog is mainly used for venting negativity about my:
- art projects
- stress
- sleep deprivation
- random surges of depression
- life in general..

but where else would i take all this to..?
i think i just got comfortable with the fact that, within this magical little page, i can say whatever i want without directly telling anyone. Of course i am aware that there might be people who wander in and out of here occasionally but thats what makes it interesting! You never know who will read your entry! Infact.. (there's always the slightest chance that the people you refer to will stumble across these things.. ) whether that's good or bad is up to you ;)
but yes, back to what i was saying..
i need to balance all this negativity with some.. positivity..?
i think it's time to revamp this tired blog of mine!
